Patrick and Christina Larabell have always shared a love of books and a dream of opening a used bookstore. Rather than letting that dream remain just an idea, they decided to make it a reality.

Without leaving their full-time careers as teachers, Patrick and Christina, together with their children, opened Earl's Corner Used Books in the heart of downtown Hollister. Their family-run bookstore was built on the belief that everyone should have access to affordable books and a welcoming place to discover their next great read.

Helping make that dream possible is Patrick's mom, Ms. Kathy, a retired seventh-grade teacher who manages the store during the day. Her passion for education and reading continues through her work at the bookstore, including hosting Children's Story Time for young readers.

At Earl's Corner Used Books, our mission is simple: to provide affordable books for readers of all ages while fostering a lifelong love of reading and learning. Whether you're searching for a beloved classic, a new favorite author, or your child's first chapter book, we hope you'll find something special on our shelves.

Of course, no visit would be complete without meeting our four-legged mascot, Earl. Friendly and always happy to greet visitors, Earl has become a favorite among our customers and is always ready to help you "sniff out" your next great book.
